    66 fuel filler door question

A quick question, the 1966 TIM & JG states that the fuel filler door should have white in the upper left corner of the checkered flag - PERIOD. According to Nolan Adams it depends on the build date of the car. Early should be white, very late should be white, and some should be black. I have a May built car and I was under the impression that I should get one with black in the upper left corner. Is this correct?

    Thanks,
    Rob

Re: 66 fuel filler door question

Rob, my April-built 66 has the black square in the upper left corner.

I am aware of what the TIM&JG says and that Noland Adams' book appears to contradict the TIM&JG. I was penalized on this aspect during recent Flight Judging but did not argue the point. My car is known to be very original and is in excellent condition, so there is no logical reason to think that the fuel filler door has ever been changed.

I've been curious about this too, so I will be interested in seeing the reponses from others on this point.

        Guys,
My July car has a black in the corner. I believe it to be original.
