I would like to know if there are more than one manufacture for the metal on the door panels on a 61 vette, i have recently purchased a set from al knoc the metal is buckled, they sent me a new set of metal and it is buckled also.I tried to work it out but to no success.

I can't speak to the 61 for sure, but I have been told by many sources that the 60 metal is only made by Romeo, and all vendors supply the same metal. I spent hours working and triming on my 60 metal to make it fit. I was going to send it back, but was told that was as good as it gets. I was lucky enough to have the original door and kick metal, and used the originals to modify the repro stuff. The holes for the pins were not in the right places, and the shape of the metal needed triming with tin snips!

I put some new metal on a 61 about 3 years ago, maybe, 4. Didn't have much trouble and it looked nice when I was finished. Last spring, I instaled new metal on a 59, and it gave me fits. Both came from Corvette Central.Comment
