C-1 Heater Motor

I picked up a heater motor today for my '57. It seems to be running backwards. When looking at the motor installed in the car it turns counter clockwise against the natural flow of the housing. Is this correct? Also, which way should the blades of the fan face? If it is running backwards can it be reversed as it appears to be correct otherwise? Thanks for your help.

If everything is correctly installed to the motor, what you are describing is a case of polarity, which can cause an electric motor to run one direction or another. In some cases, simply reversing the conductor (wires) that are supplying power to the motor can change the direction that the motor turns. However, in most cases it may be necessary to have the connections checked inside the motor. In other words, make sure that the positive source feeds the armature and the neutral/ground feeds the material (usually a magnet) that surrounds the armature. Before making changes to the motor, make sure your cage and all parts are assembled correctly. What I'm describing is HOW to change the direction an electrical motor turns. I hope this is helpful.
