Just put a new vinyl soft top on my 1970. Anyone know the do's and dont's as far as keeping the vinyl and plastic window clean and any good treatments to put on the vinyl so that it will last longer? I am sure that it is easy to scratch the plastic window if you clean it with the wrong thing. Thanks for the help.

Re: C3 Soft Top Question
I know on C2s, the most important thing is to place a towel on the window, so when it closes it has something between the two halfs when folded. I have heard there is a soft round window protector that some vendors sell.

Re: C3 Soft Top Question
I think a large bath towel works just as well as the made-up, rear window protective pillows PLUS it does double duty as a drying wipe when you're on the road and pull over for that quickie car wash!
On cleaning agents, check out the McGuiars line of wax/polish products. You'll find they have several products rifle-shot at clear vinyl plastic; one to simply clean and protect and several to polish with varying degrees of abrasive built-in for scratch removal. These were originally developed for the motorcycle crowd (windscreens and helmet shields) and work great on soft top rear window vinyl!- Top
