    PPG Concept Urethane Paint

Has anyone painted or had painted their '56 - '57 Corvette in PPG Concept Urethane single stage paint? I am looking for the PPG cross over numbers derived from the original lacquer to PPG Urethane for Venetian Red and Shoreline Beige. Thanks

    Re: PPG Concept Urethane Paint

I have painted many Vettes with the PPG urethane. The PPG Reps have always told me there is no crossover data. There are two different ways I have gone about this. First, if you can find a PPG Auto Paint jobber that has the computer paint match equipment, take a part if your car to them if there is anywhere that still has the original color such as the backside of the door or gas door and they can match it to the closest urethane formula available, from whatever kind of car. If this dosen't work,go to the auto paint store or a local body shop and they should have a color map or color chips that you can sort through to find the closest colors. Once you have found the closest colors, spray test panels to double check the colors because they will usually look different from the chips. If this still is'nt close enough, the paint store can adjust the formula abit.
