Am considering purchasing original factory wheel covers and factory steel wheels for my December 2nd (4,300) produced 1963 Corvette. To be sure I'm searching for the correct covers, which one's should I be looking for....frosted or non-frost. Which came first? Any sellers? Thanks, Mike

My copy of the Judging Guide...
reads pretty clearly on this:
"the wheel cover dish is polished stainless steel with six uniform chrome plated 'fins' around the circumference. The wheelcover dish also has a raised center. Ealry 1963 model wheelcovers have the raised center portion frosted (up to approximately VIN 2500)....Later 1963 wheelcovers (after approximately VIN 2500) have the raised center portion polished."
What's your book say?- Top

Re: 1963 Wheel covers...which ones??
my 63 came shortly after yours, 3rd wk of december i think. its #4924 which after all these years, thats pretty close. my caps are polished but i think they got that way thru a previous owner cleaning them up. nolan adams says they were frosted untill # 8152. the frosting is only silver paint so polished ones would be easy to paint if you wanted to. if you found frosted ones, they would probably need painted anyway.- Top
