Can anyone tell me what the correct finish is on the dipstick handle for a 66 427?

I believe that it's natural, unplated steel.

agree with joe.plastic plug in proximal end was red 40 years ago, now pink in most cases. no crimps in exposed end. judging manual gives pretty good description.Judges pretty good on this issue.No one had 100 % correct repo last time i checked(3-4 years ago)mike

Mike, L.I. has a repro that they list as 100% correct.
