The tank sticker on my '71 appears to be part of a carbon paper stack-blue print on the typed-in info and blue carbon on back. Is this kosher? I have never actually seen one before. Also, anyone familar with zone 15 or and/or dealer 628 in early '70s? I couldn't get in from the data base, unless I'm doing something wrong. THANKS

Yes, Dave, I do see that reverse serial #. Also, the last three digits appear hand-written, top right.- Top

Re: Tank Sticker; Dealer ID for '71
The handwritten 3 numbers are the job number which was assigned on the assembly line. There is a lot of history on this in the archives. It is some coincidence that they match the last 3 numbers of the VIN as most do not.- Top

Charlie:
The t-tops were placed on a fixture over the windshield and followed body as it went through paint, ovens, blackout and trim assembly. They were matched to the body so it is not surprising the body shop job number appears on them as well.Tom Russo

Brian is right. Send a copy of your tank sticker to Al Grenning. But for now, I can tell you that Zone 15 is Philadelphia.- Top
