As with any restoration you find out many things when you receive new parts. i got my new bolts to put on the new (rebuilt original) water pump there was three bolts (same size) and a bolt/stud. Hummm, I marked the ones i took out ant ther was no stud there??? Where does the one stud go if you look straight at the motor? and what's if for?? Pully? bracket? thanks jc

You didn't say what year and engine you're talking about, but my '75 L-48 (small block) has three bolts and a stud holding on the water pump. The stud is on the driver's side, upper hole (I believe), and holds my alternator brace.

It's a 68 427/390 L36, I just don't recall any stud that I took off. thanks if you've got info!! jcComment
