At the factory, was the engine compartment wiring harness, including headlight extensions, installed before or after the body was mounted on the chassis?

Yes, It should have been. It makes sense that it was much easier before the body drop. You can just see the wires for the front parking lights, on page 29 of Nolands book, showing the 63 body drop.

Thanks, if they did it that way it must have been easier, so I'll do the same.
