    C-2 Windshield

I have just removed the exterior stainless from my 63 Convertable. All of the original clips are either gone or broken and the windshield gasket needs replacement. Does anyone have a good source for the winshield gasket and clips? I am also considering replacing the windshield. It's starting to show its age. If I replace the gasket I might as well replace the glass. Does anyone have a source for the glass?

    Bob,

If you want to spend a lot of money and have the correct date code, call OEM Glass in Bloomington, Il. If you want a glass that will keep out the elements made by the OEM manufacturer call Route 66 at 1 573 888-2410. The clips can be purchased at Volunteer Vette in Knoxville, TN. at 1 865 521-9100. Probably get the W/S there also.

Curious, just what is the price range for a mid-year windshield with the correct date code? I just want to prepare myself for sticker shock.

I bought a date coded windshield for my 66 from Auto City Glass located near Minneapolis for about $75-100 cheaper than OEM Glass.

          Jack,
The quote that I received from OEM glass for a date stamped windshield for my '65 was $384. $339 for the glass and $45 to date stamp.

I saw less expensive windshields at Carlise (I don't remember whos booth) that were marked "made in Mexico". Where ever you buy your windshield, ask questions to verify that it meets your expectations.

          Regards,
          Gene

Dr. Rebuild had some NOS GM clips for my 65. I bought some repos from another company and they were very easy to break. The Docs were much better
