Re: 67 C2 Headlight motor housing paint
Thanks Joe. I should have been even more explicit. The motor housing is black, The electrical connector insulator is natural yellowish plastic, and the external adjusting wheel and washer are natural (not painted) Correct???- Top

Re: 67 C2 Headlight motor housing paint
Steve:
I have a 1965, and my headlight motor housings are "natural". Was there a change for 1967? For 1965, there was no differentiation between motor, and gearbox housings. With all due respect to Joe L., I think that they are the same.

Joe-----
You may well be correct. My recollection was that the 67 motor assemblies used a painted motor and natural, as-cast gear box. I could well be maistaken, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Headlight Motor Finish
Gentlemen,
The finish for ALL Headlight Motors 1963-1967 is natural on all surfaces and has never changed. The only change has come from some rebuilders painting them wrong. All black, case black etc. I would recommend taking the motor case and using a polyurethane semigloss to finish it off. This will give it a finish that looks natural but won't rust as the originals did.
As the man says: Have a nice day!

Re: My 65 is all "AU NATURAL"
Another option is to use Seymour stainless steel finish, it doesn't look like paint and leaves a raw steel look...I was pleased with the results and got the tip from Steve Hack in a motor restoration class in Bloomington several years ago...Craig- Top
