    K66 ignition???

Did all the 435 HP. 427's come with the K66 ignition. Can all the components of the ignition system be repaired or replaced?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: K66 ignition???

    George,

Yes all 435 cars came with the K66 TI ignition option and they can be repaired. If some parts are missing and or need to be replaced they can be expensive if your program calls for completely orginal parts either good used or NOS. An orginal coil # 1115263 is almost impossible to find as these were put directly on the car at time of build and were not available over the counter. The good news is they are available today as a clone and look and function as original but without the 263 embosed on the coil.

      Yes, and Yes ....

The parts that tend to "go south" are the pickup coil, amplifier and wiring harness. The first item you see often on eBay, the second, occasionally on eBay (there's an NOS '64-Jan'68 style expiring in a few hours), and the wiring harness and the TI amp internals, you can purchase from www.wiringharness.com or www.tispecialty.com. The latter can rebuild distributors as well.

George - I agree with Wayne, and the internals that have been upgraded by Dave Fiedler at TI Specialties are much better than the old germanium transistor technology used back then. Dave also has an excellent "driver coil" that matches the original in impedance for a reasonable price....Craig
