    69 Valve cover gaskets

Anyone have recommendations for what brand of valve cover gaskets to use on the SB aluminum covers.

    Thanks

    George-----

My preference has always been and is now Fel-Pro #1604. These are a cork-rubber laminated gasket with a steel core. They are a bit thicker than stock gaskets as they are 5/16" thick. These gaskets do not have the "extra" holes for the 55-59 style cylinder heads and that's another one of their advantages. They are expensive.

      Thanks Joe

Are these gaskets fairly leak proof? Any special installation tricks tp keep them from leaking?

      Thanks,

      George
