    What do you do

for a living? I was on another car site and this question was asked of the forum members. The responses were great and gave much more insight to the people we only know through handels our participation in the disucssion forum. Some folks have some VERY interesting/different occupations.

I know this is a technical sight however we have no other place on the NCRS website to discuss this issue.

So what do YOU do for a living?

I am a retired house husband. At 44 I left a plastics company and now stay home and take care of the kids. That means drive them to school, homework, activities etc. I draw the line at housework and clothes. I do some but the housekeeper most of that work. I also NOW get a lot of garage time when the kids are in school. Still never seem to get anything finished as I drag more junque in than I ever will complete. You would think I would have more time for Vintage racing however the kids schedule has made this activity more difficult to allow time. I still have my Tennessee auto dealers license that I have had for years so I'll continue to buy/sell a car or two. Maybe now I will find time for the 2 Corvette vintage road race cars and other cars we have and restore them. Until then, it's Ford racing with a Shelby GT-350. If the wife ever figures out how much fun I'm having and decides to sell/quit her business, the jig will be up!!!! She will want all the free time to drive her 67.

    Re: What do you do

    Interesting thread, Mike

I'll continue this discussion, I'm 49 and retired this year, having been a tax practitioner for the last 22 years. I was lucky, usually only working during the "tax season" and having the balance of the year off, now I have the entire year to spend doing my favorite activites. I spend a lot of time at swap meets and car shows. My main interest is muscle cars with no allegience to any particular make, however I prefer cars during the 1970 & '71 years especially. I'm planning on traveling across the US this upcoming summer and hope to meet some of you at the various regional NCRS meets among other car shows and swap meets. My wife shares my love of these cars, although not to my extent.

      Mike and Warren-----

There ABSOLUTELY IS a place on this site to present the type of information which you describe. It's been available since the beginning and not too many folks take advantage of it. It's called "User Profiles". There, you can tell all about yourself and it can be stored so that if someone's interested, all they have to do is to "click" on your name and up comes your profile. You can edit it from time-to-time, too, as things change.

        Joe:

I did use that option, but only for the type of cars I have/had that pertain to this forum. I'm sorry if I have disobeyed the forum rules by responding to this thread, it was not my intention to do so ... I apologize. Warren

As far as I know, there is no restriction as to what you can include about yourself in your user profile. It does not have to be limited to only your Corvette-related activities. It can, and in my mind should, include what you do for a living, your general interests, hobbies, other automotive interests, etc., etc. It's designed to let other board visitors know a little something about you. Of course, if one wishes to include only their Corvette-related activities in their user profile, they can do that, too.

of knockers. That's how some guys get vette money.
