I'm micro preping the 59 for a flight attempt in September. The carbs are redone and the 3 basic colors on them. Silverish for the airhorn, carb bronze on the main body and cast on the throttle base. I need some help with a lot of little stuff and would really appreciate it.Here is the list... 1. Metering Rod Dust Cover 2. Choke Housing 3. Unloader mechanism 4. Fast Idle cam 5. Choke Shaft Lever 6. Secondry Throttle Lever 7. Secondary Lockout lever 8. Auxillary Valve Lockout lever 9. Primary Throttle Lever 10.Lower Choke lever 11.Primry throttle shaft dog & arm 12.Secondary Throttle valve counter weight & lever I know this is a bad time to ask with all the vet meets going on but I would appreciate it. Just answer by the list number would be great! Thank you

Re: 1959 245hp carbs
Jeff, 1. Same color as air horn. 2. Same color as main body (I believe). Fast idle retaining screw (head) copper color. All the other stampings, springs, rod, clips, etc. that you mentioned are a zinc/cad plated. Using Caswell's "Copy Cad" system, you can plate these yourself relatively easy (I have no connection with yada, yada).
Stamping your tags, if you can use numbers and letters that need not to be read in reverse, like "8" and "A" for instance, MSC industrial tool house will sell individual stamps at about $1.50 each plus shipping. Regards- Top

Finish the story....
Once the tag's been wacked with the date code/assy ID and you're sure you've got the right font to match known original tags of the era, you need to be sure you've got the right underlying tag material. Most of the catalog houses only stock brass and, if memory serves, there was a running change in '59 from brass to aluminum.
Last, savvy judges are going to look for the inspector's punch in the tag. Style/font of punch indicating QA/QC check, varied with carbs and timeframe as it traced back to source inspector....- Top
