    Did the base engine '71 &'72 small block cars have a surge tank?

      1971 and 1972 Corvettes with base engine, 4 speed transmission and without air conditioning used an external aluminum supply tank for the alumunum GM #3155316 radiator. Base engine with automatic transmission and/or air conditioning did not use an external supply tank. They used a copper-brass radiator with integral tanks and filler cap.
