    Re: ?s re PF-25 Reproductions

I gave up on the paper encyclopedia indexes and trying to keep the magazines organized and bought the CD - at least it's indexed by logical categories so you can find the article and peruse it, then if you want the paper copy you know what issue it's in

I just keep 'em in a handy box in the order I receive them - but I've got like 8 years worth sitting there w/o an index - no way I can 'remember' which issue has some article of interest to me.

I thought that CD was for the older stuff? Do you have to buy a new CD every few years in order to have a current index?

Restorer Index - was: PF-25 Reproductions

Yeah me too - I even kinda sorta keep 'em in order - but unless someone references once (and I have it or can find it ) - I rarely peruse them on memory of something or other - and if you knew my memory they I do - you wouldn't trust my memory either!

I need to double check but I thought the CD was only up to a certain point. After that the newer stuff (yes my memory can be that bad!) isn't on CD so just my memory.

        thanks

PS: now that I think about it - out of curiousity - what kind of format is the CD in - is it 'PDFs' or something else? I've thought about the CD to get access to the older stuff but w/o a detailed index of what i'd be getting I've passed so far - my interest is mainly 1970s and the further back you go the fewer articles are likely to appear. Technologies change (lackquer paint) and I don't care about the road trip reports from the past. But yes - it's a tempting proposition nonetheless...

You can buy an updated CD from the store. I believe it's $50 for the upgrade. I haven't yet found the need, as it's only been 3-4 years since I bought my original CD, not the 25 years since the beginning of the club. Keeping track of a few years is much easier.
