C2, '64 PAINT

My '64 is very nearly ready for finish paint. At the painter's request I tried to purchase RM Limco Supreme Riverside Red base coat. The dealer's computer came up with Roman Red. A call to the RM distributor gave the same result with the further explanation that '62 Roman Red and '63 and '64 Riverside Red, all designated GM 923, are the same. The pains of stripping, repairing and sanding the body are too fresh in my mind. Can anyone corroborate the RM statement.

Refering to the 1953-1972 "NCRS Corvette Specifications Guide" on page 150 confirms the colors are the same.

the reds are the same. with all those pains you went through why not use the correct dupont lacquer paint ? Bill
