    327 Oil Canister

I'm putting the engine back together in my '65 L-79. I was going to go w/ a spin-on oil fill adapter. However, the adapter the machine shop got in from their supplier-the engine builder told me was a piece of junk.(Not his exact quote!) So...I would like to run the engine this evening and this is my last hurdle. Does the aluminum bypass valve that mounts to the block have a gasket in between? Or is it just bolted to the block? The only gasket I have came w/ the filter- for the canister.

    THANKS!!!

The valve uses a gasket. They're normally included in rebuild gasket sets. If you have gasket paper they are not very hard to make. Rich

I assume that a big block uses a gasget also?.....
