    TRAILER TIE DOWN STRAPS

The tie down straps I purchased have hooks that hook on the d rings of the trailer. The rachet is about 2 1/2 to three feet from the hooks. When the straps attach to the car the rachet on the straps is already up under the car and is extremely diffucult to operate and to see. Did I get the wrong straps and what is ideal??

    Thanks guys

Don, when I got my axle straps the trailer dealer adjusted them so the ratchet is down next to the D-Ring when you are tightening. They then cut off 2 or 3 feet of extra strap I didn't need. You definitely don't want to be tightening the ratchets up under the car because you can't get enough leverage that way. Chuck
