How bout that PVC fitting at the back of 327s?

I confess, I was temped to scour the research books for the answer fer my question but then I caught myself...

Decided to tap into this pool of expertise......duh!

At the back of my 63 block next to distributor is what looks like a PVC fitting. Also has another on the oil fill tube.

Where do these buggers plumb to?

Rubber grommet presses into top of engine case to drivers side of distrib. then a swedged pipe inserts into the grommet then a rubber hose inserts over the pipe and the rubber hose inserts over the pvc valve fastened to the carb(all this non fi info) mike

        Mike,

I was planning on cobb'n one from a 66 donor motor. There is no rubber grommet involved, but rather a "press in" type metal fitting with a 1/4" bolt through the middle into the block.

From your input, I assume this would be incorrect? (I haven't looked to see if I have a tapped hole to accomodate the bolt)

Long Island Corvette's catalog shows a clear picture of the proper plumbing and will even sell you the parts.

Be sure you get the "'63-only" parts; the airflow in the crankcase ventilation system (and thus its plumbing) was reversed in '63 vs. '64 and later. All is shown in the A.I.M.
