My reading of the '65 Judging Manual says that "C" was a strike month; and by extension, there should be no bodies produced in that month at St.Louis AND the same in Ionia Mich., IF that plant was also on strike.
But, currently on eBay, (item # 2439665400 for those interested in seeing the VIN and Trim tags), there is a convertible VIN 02679, A-1011, with a C 13 body build code. This is only the 2nd C-date I've seen; the last was in the early '80s in western Canada [coupe 02741, A-548, also C 13].
Was Ionia producing bodies during the strike at St.Louis ? As an aside, there's also an eBay coupe VIN 02618, but it's an S-body (900GG Paint), and would probably be in the range of D-high teens or low twenties on the body date.
Anybody know how a "C" AO Smith body would be handled on the judging field ?
