3 novice electrical questions C3

Pardon the very simple questions but I am haveing trouble figuring these out, especialy since many electrical components aren't working. '72 BB

1) The three knobs under the stearing column, two are pull down and one seems to twist. What are their function? The two that pull down look like they have two hoses each attached to them runing threw the fire wall.

2) Behind the passanger seat in the storage compartment there is the fuse relay for the flashers. What is the "relay" next to it, rectangle with a white, black and (I think) orange wire conecting to it?

3) Again in the same storage area and not connected to the relays there is a black wire with a conector on the end and a an orange wire, mine has been cut. What are these for?

The three knobs:

One holds the headlight door open
One holds the wiper door open
The center one stops the wiper motor in mid-swing ( so the baldes can be changed )

The relay is for the alarm system, the "flasher" allows the alarm to "beep".

Not sure on the wires without a schematatic in front of me, but I'd guess they are for the center console light.

Jason, Mike hit it right away but let me add that the use and purpose of these three knobs is in the owner's manual. If you don't have one, our very own NCRS store has repro manuals quite cheap.

I am heading to the garage and will look at my 72 to see what the wire is. If I figure it out, I will post back at you.
