    Brakes/Wheels

Excuse me for asking a possibly stupid question. I love the concept of earlier bodies (C1/C2) on frames with later suspension. Invariably, they all have the later wheels. To me, this is like fingernails being dragged on a blackboard. What is the latest brake set up that will accomodate C1/C2 wheels?

    Re: Brakes/Wheels

pete: if you wish to use a c-4 or c-5 front and rear suspensions under a c-1 or c-2 body, only way you can make the wheels look period to the body is by having a set of rims made to order. there is an outfit in calif that can make you a set. i've misplaced their name but i looked into having a set of c-1 rims fabricated when i built my 61 bodied 92 ZR-1. ended up using the zr-1 rims and tires but agree with you it'd look better with dog dishes.Perhaps someone on this forum can help with the calif wheel fabricator. good luck, mike

Was It AFS, Inc. in Canoga Park, Mike?...

They make alloy wheels for other applications, like ZR-1 style wheels with correct offsets to fit 84-87 C4s without adapters. Last telephone number I have for them is 818-340-6181.

          PS Engineering Contact Information

Pete, PS Engineering is in Torrance, CA. Owner is Phil Schmidt (310) 534-4477. He made the Torq-Thrust D's for my '67 to give it the 60's street look I wanted. See the link below. He makes a lot of Halibrand style knockoff's for Cobras and the like. He also did the wheels for Eleanor, the Shelby in "Gone In 60 Seconds". Good luck, Jim Member #2978
