1955 seat cushion spring cover materials

I'm putting in new trim in my 1955. Seat cushion springs are currently wrapped in two different materials - similar to photos of springs in the Paragon catalog for 1956-1962. Some rows are wrapped in burlap/muslin; some rows in a white cotton. What is correct for a 1955? Does it matter for judging?

I also found tags on the seat backs with part numbers and the date 12/17/53. Is it possible that left over spring sets from December, 1953 were not trimmed until needed for my buid date of November, 1955?

    Thanks

    Gord--

My 55 vette seats had a tag on them of april, 1954. I too wondered about this because I do not know if my seats were origanal to my car. I will also be interested in any answers you may get.

      My originals...

had the springs side-by-side in a "tube" of cloth, with a row of stitching between each spring, and the "tube" seam along the bottom of the springs. The center cushion springs were sewn into white linen, and the outer bolster springs were in burlap. I used loose repro springs to replace the bad ones, and made my own "bags". My original foam "buns" were in excellent shape, so I re-used them. I had cut-style repro buns, which were a bit uneven, and I sent them back. Whoever ended up with them got a great deal, though, because I had used a high speed hand grinder to smooth them to perfect contour before I discovered I didn't need them.

I can understand the BOTTOM seats having 53 dates, they are the same as 54 to 55. Were the back seat also dated 53? Don, said his were all dated 54 , that could be right because mid-late 54's are the same as 55 because of the soft top fram change (dog legs).

My 54 seats had the orig white tags on both seat backs with 53 dates
My car is very late (3803)
Dont remember the date off hand - but they are still attached
I photo'd them and will transfer them with I redo the seats
          (not there yet)
          The bottom insides were burlap
