Re: Which tire would YOU choose? - something diffe

A comment here relative to thinning/improving the gene pool would be appropriate, but I digress.....

Well then let's not digress... Perhaps a comment on the kind of logic that is at work in authoring and publishing materials that designate service replacement tire sizes that not a single tire manufacturer is willing to corroborate might avert any digression from the topic at hand?

Re: What a waste of e-space!

The bottom line is choice and common sense.

We make the choice every day we swing our collective a _ _ es out of bed, put our feet on the floor and head out the front door to face another brave new day.

It's a sad commentary where the first point of business though is (while blissfully eating my Wheaties), trying figure out just how to keep the family jewels from being molested by some low life lurking in the bushes with his business card.

Yeah yeah I know, "it's the world we live we live in" Something to proud of for sure!

How about this for our next paranoid dicussion.

Who would be to blame if one of my 35 year old rods fail, puts the hole in the oil pan, pours oil all over the road and takes out the school bus full of kiddies following behind on the class trip?

Step back and take breath Todd.

          Or Lack of Imagination

"The bottom line is choice and common sense."
Oh? Ford is in the business of selecting tires for it's customers. Firestone is in the business of manufacturing tires and designating service replacements. Tell that to them. The 'other' bottom line is that there are 'sometimes' consequences.

          "It's a sad commentary where..."
          I agree.

          "... our next paranoid dicussion."
What are you saying? That an organization such as the 15,000 strong NCRS group is an easy going, blissfully care free crew that is free to designate service replacement tires that the tire manufacturers themselves won't corroborate? That to worry about such nuances as making tire designations is a trivial matter and NCRS is free to act as it pleases and nary worry about the consequences of it's own recomendations? To do anything such as even discuss potential responsibilities associated with such actions is "paranoid" and a "waste of e-space!"? And if it's such a waste, then why do you propogate this "paranoid" "waste of e-space"?

"Who would be to blame if one of my 35 year old rods" This is a poor analogy to the topic of NCRS, safety and tires it designates. It makes no reference to tires and tire recommendations given by an organization. There is nothing in the analogy that speaks to current public mood or scrutiny regarding tires. Nor is there anything in the example that references following a specific and potentially un-advisable action recommended by a an organization to a larger population group.

"Step back and take breath Todd."
Why not be more imaginative in considering the possibilities? Or if this thread's mere existence on this forum causes you angst, simply ignore it, move on and enjoy one your rods Chuck?

Re: I think theres way too much

imagination at work that's all Todd.

Theres alot of woulda shoulda coulda at work here and 90% (in my humble estimation) is historically out of my control.

I think the connection between the steering wheel and the go go pedal is where the debate ends.

Your tires, my rods......Hmm anyone want to defend those big ole gas tanks nestled behind those massive rear bumper systems?

Pick an area for concern Todd and I'm sure your going to have a spirited debate where ever you point, Vette, Vega, Viper, Volvo........

            So where does it stop?

            I promise I'm done
