The GM #374246 u-joint assembly has very wide application for GM vehicles. I won't even attempt to get into the whole of it. However, as far as Corvettes go, the GM #374246 u-joint is a SERVICE u-joint for the half-shaft application for all 1963-79 Corvettes, 1980-81 Corvettes with manual transmission, and all 1982 Corvettes.

The GM #374246 was never originally used for any 1963-79 Corvette PRODUCTION application, although it may have been used in PRODUCTION for 80-82 applications. It came into SERVICE use for 1963-79 Corvettes when the GM #3889696, the PRODUCTION and SERVICE u-joint for 1966-79 applications was discontinued in April, 1983. The GM #374246 is a Spicer-manufactured u-joint.
