    Thx Gene - I am thinking maybe 67 was the transition point on this one, so I am not sure which way to go, given my May 67 build date. I may just go with clear zing and no dichromate dip...Craig

        Just found this earlier post. If you look carefully around the bolt holes that have been protected by the large bolt at the top and the washers elsewhere, you should be able to determine which plating finish is correct. My '65's are definitely silver in color.

        Now for the tough part. In the original thread we opened the worm can regarding electroplating and hydrogen embrittlement. Hopefully you saw the post. I'm holding off on plating mine until I talk to the electroplater.
