What kind of paint/material should I use to detail my frame and wheel wells? Should I use an undercoating material in the wheel wells? I'd like to stay away from spray products. I would appreciate any product recommendations.

I scraped all of the undercoating off my 67 except for the fender peaks and cleaned up the residue with carb cleaner. Then used John Deere Blitz Black on the freshly cleaned portions. It looks great. I sprayed some 3M rubber undercoating only on the fender peaks.
Most of the wheelwells on my car and on another 67 I'm finishing had very little undercoating from the factory on the rear of the front fenderwells.
