68 Fuel Line Replacement

Do I have to remove the body from the frame
in order to replace the Fuel lines on my 68?

I remember reading some where that it was necessary.

Mark fuel line replacement covers both rubber and metal fuel lines. Our 68's ahve rubber fuel lines at the rear of the car going from the tank to the steel lines on the frame. I have replaced the rubber ones but not the metal lines.

I am referring to the metal Fuel Lines the run along the frame.

I have not had to remove the metal fuel line along the frame. If I had to replace the entire metal fuel line I would cut it and connect it with a fitting before I would lift the body only to replace a fuel line to keep driving my 68. In ordering a new fuel line I don't believe you will get it delivered full length unbent for installation.

The metal fuel lines can be replaced without lifing the body. That being said you will find it difficult, but not impossible. I did it on my 69. Getting the bolts out of the clamps along the frame is difficult since the head is very close to the clamp. You can use a thin walled box wrench it or take one and grind it down. The other major area of difficulty is were the line passes thru the frame near the rear kick up. It will go in but patience is the key.
