What color(s) should the wire be that connects to the TI harness coming out of the fire wall?

'65 wiring diagram shows the feed from the ignition switch is an 18-ga. black/pink wire (connects to the white wire in the T.I. harness).

The wire I have is black with a painted on red stripe..........

Any idea how far this wire goes past the fire wall and do you know if this wire can be replaced for judging purposes?
