I am in the process of getting my '58 ready for paint. I noticed that where the
decklid sits on the the body, there are several, what look like small holes in the body channel on both the right and left side, but not on the rear trunk side. Were these originally small drain holes or just imperfections that need to be addressed.

They are just drain holes, clean them out and let them be.

Thanks John! Never really noticed them before. They are pretty well filled in.
Maybe from the hurry-up body-on that was done in 1981. What shape, configuration are they?

They are (not perfectly) round, much like the drain holes in the trunk that connect to the two drain hoses.
