350 Turbo Trans/64 Coupe

Has anyone installed a 350 Turbo Trans behind stock 300 HP engine in Mid Year Coupe---have a person who wants this installation in his driver---will stock transmission mount fit? What about shifter/console/linkage problems?

Would appreciate any comments or info on installation particulars.

I have a stock turbo 350 in my 63 with a 327/300. The transmissions are the same legnth and the bolt pattern at the bellhousing is the same. I even have the original powerglide shifter hooked up to it. The installation of the shifter required a custom made bracket, in 63 the shifter was mounted to the tail shaft housing. The turbo 350 has a fine spline yoke, in 63 the powerglide required a coarse spline yoke but 64 was a fine spline. The dip stick tube had to bent slightly with a pipe bender to fit in the correct location around the shielding. The turbo 350 has a cable kick down it takes a little creative thought to connect it to the carb. but not a big problem. Some slight bending of the cooling lines is also required. The turbo 350 is slightly bigger around the pan and clearance is very tight at the passengers side exhaust, but it does fit. The mounts are in the same locations. I happen to be removing the turbo 350 next week and installing an original powerglide. If your looking for a 350 let me know. Mine was rebuilt about 2 years ago only about 3000 miles on it.
