1975 seat belt sequence module wiring

I am just finishing a 2 year frame off restoration project and have run into a little snag with wiring. It seems most of these seat belt/starter interlock modules have been done away with, and only the early 75's were so equipped. My car shows no evidence one ever existed, there are no seat weight sensor switches and no sign of a mounting location for the module anywhere. All the wiring diagrams I have seen show the module. I am looking for the "revised" diagram that shows how the seat belts are wired WITHOUT the module. I hope some of you can be of assistance please.

I'm going to guess at trhis one, but I think that 76s were likely the same as late 75s without the interlock module. So, a 76 wiring diagram might be the easy answer for you.

Joe, thanks for your reply. That is a very good idea, I will check it out. These modules had to be one of the weirdest things the General ever did to one of these cars!

It was only done in response to government requirements at the time; it was definitely not something that GM did electively. When citizen outcry over this foolish requirement and "system" got the regulations rescinded, GM IMMEDIATELY ceased installing this on cars. That's why early 75s may have them, but later ones don't. The seatbelt interlock system was, primarily, a phenomenon of the 1974 model year.

I once had a new 1974 model Chevrolet for a work car. One of the first things that I did was disconnect the underseat connector which disabled the whole idiotic system. I think that most folks with 1974 model cars did this. That's one of the other things that got the government regulation rescinded.

I disconnected this on my 74 vette about 2 weeks after I bought it...and it has been disconnected ever since...a total joke....Craig

            Steve:

I've got a 76 manual and it illustrates a seat belt reminder schematic along with a seat belt system diagnosis. If you still need it drop me a note with your address and I'll drop it in the mail.

Steve, I saw your VIN # posted on another forum and NO, your car does'nt have it. My '75 is #35026(July 12th)and it DOES NOT have it. You have to remember the '75 diagram was printed up in 1974 when the 1974 Corvettes had this system. I do not even know if a "revised" version was EVER printed. I'm not even sure my '75 has any wires going to the seat belts???

Paul, thanks for your response. I am certainly glad my car never had that awful module. I am still trying to figure out how to connect the warning system which does have switches on the buckle portion of each seat belt (at least on my car) These switches somehow connect to a black and a white wire from the I/P wiring harness, and I am sure I must be missing at least part of the harness (the part that would connect both seat belts together)
