66 BB valve covers A/C indent

I have a 66 427/390 4 owner original car. I bought the car in 1999. I found the original owner in 2001, thanks to " The Driveline." When I met the original owner he gave me parts that he says he took off of the car when he owned it (prior to 72). One of the parts was a set of valve covers, with the A/C indent. Was this possible if the car is a late 66, body build date K21 St. Louis body? He also gave me a set of rain sheilds for the hood that were missing when I bought the car. This surprised me since he sold the car in 72,and kept the shields, and the valve covers for so long. Was it possible for a late 66 to have the A/C indent valve covers?

Brian - I discussed this with Paul Noble, one of the 66 BG engine bay judges at Bloomington this year. He indicated that while typical to see these covers on Jan 66 or earlier cars, My March 18 L72 could have them. I am not sure if the stock intermix was such that all of 66 could have seen the small dent in the RH cover for the AC....Craig

I bought a set of such valve covers in the 80's and i removed them from an early 67 mark 4 engine. seller swore they were original to the car. he wanted moroso or some such alum valve covers for his 67. mike
