    1969 Exhaust Pipes

I am switching the headers on my 1969 350 back to stock manifolds. I need to replace the front exhaust pipes, the short ones with a bend that connect the manifolds to the longer pipe in front of the muffler. Is there anyplace I can buy just these pipes? The catelogs only seem to sell complete systems and the NAPA web site doesn't list any parts for my car.

Also, the catalogs have something called manifold locks or french locks listed. What do these do? Are they necessary/stock? Thanks.

Reproduction front pipes are listed as separate items in Chicago Corvette and Corvette Central catalogs (about $50 each side).

French locks were used on the outside manifold bolts to prevent them from backing out and giving exhaust leaks. If you want the total factory concours look, buy and install the French locks. Otherwise simply torque the bolts to spec and check them once in awhile for tightness without the French locks.
