During the recent muggy weather, my steering wheel became sticky. I actually had small specks of black paint on my hands after going for a drive. It became obvious that this was a red steering wheel painted black at some point. I need to repaint the steering wheel - What type of primer should I use? What type of paint - Interior Dye or Interior Lacquer? This is not going to be judged but I would like to make it look as nice as possible - any suggestions are appreciated - thanks.

You might want to try Gary's Steering Wheel Restoration 717-243-5646. He restored my 63 steering wheel. Did a nice job. I don't think a do it yourself job will come out to your satisfaction. -
