Spark Plug Boots

I have a 66 427/425 and need to replace some of the spark plug boots. Does anyone know where I can buy correct ones. I hate to spend a hundred bucks for a new set of wires just for the boots.

Let me know too...

I've gone through 3 sets of Lectric Limited braided wires on my '66 L36 because of the boots tearing or getting punctures. This last set was installed/removed 1 time while doing a compression test and 2 boots ended up w/holes in them - all this while using dielectric grease in the boots and plug wire pliers. It's frustrating! I've been robbing all the "good" boots off of the old wire sets, but have run out. I have a hard time believing that the original plug wire boots were as fragile as Lectric's repros. Dunno if they'll sell them separately - they should.

Don -- that is the problem exactly -- THE BOOTS ARE CRAP !!!! I also use dielectric grease just so they wont stick to the plug and tear. You would think for the hundred bucks plus that they charge that they would give you good boots. Lectric Limited does not sell them.

I purchased a set of date coded wires from Lectric. The were junk from the get go. Not up to their usual quality.I took them off and replaced them with a set of AC Delco wires. The boots were red rather than black, but the engine performs much better. Another option would to be check with your local speed shop they may sell them separately.
