Need new exhaust system for my '66. Car is not a daily driver. Thought I would drive up to Carlisle this coming weekend and see what I could find. I hear that Allen's is good to deal with. Any experiences?? Any thoughts on Aluminized or Stainless?? I know neither will pass judging. As usual, any comments or suggestions or experiences are greatly appreciated.

Don: aluminized won't get total deduct whereas stainless will( unless the judging manual has changed. if it is to be judged, don't use stainless. if its never to be judged, stainless is lifelong but usually more expensive than alum. mike -

I bought some aluminized Allen's sidepipes several years back and have been pleased with them. A previous owner put a ss system on my 62. I have no problems with it either, and would probably do it again if judging was not a consideration and the cost was within my means.Comment

I had a bad experience with a 74. It didn't fit even close to proper on one side and the vendor was unreponsive.Comment

I put an Allen's aluminized system on a 67 about a month ago. It fits like a fine glove. Zero alignment problems and only minimal tweaking to get the exhaust tips centered. Probably spent less than an hour total, of course it helps when you have a lift. I highly recommend his systems.
