OK, I want to do this correct the first time. Can someone please tell me what front and rear suspension components, on my chassis, are to be natural metal finish on my 1965 small block? Example: the dome washer and bolt on the uppper and lower control arms. At Bloomington I noticed the majority of the cars on the field were painted. Imagining a factory setting, how would the factory do this and not get paint on the control arm bar? Maybe they did?? I believe they should be plated not painted. I am following Joseph Tripoli's book on Chassis Resto. guide, but not everything is in there.Any help appreciated! Thanks! Dick Gutman

Re: Suspension Finishes
Dick,
You will find the answers to your suspension questions in the 4th Edition of the 1965 TIM & Judging Guide. Upper A arms are found on page 127 and lower A arms on page 135.
I'm sorry, but there is too much information for me to incorporate into this posting.
Regards,

The TM&JG will answer your questions - as to the specific issue of the "dome" washers, the complete upper and lower control arm assemblies (including the washers and cross shafts, bushings, bolts, etc.) were painted gloss black by the supplier after subassembly, and were delivered to St. Louis as completed units ready to bolt to the frame.- Top
