66 VIN Frame #'s?

I bought a 66 project car and the VIN tag #'s are still under the glove box door on the body. The #'s on top of the left frame rail are not stamped on the frame, but the hidden #'s are there 1 foot foward from the body mount behind the left side door. My question is this normal for the factory not to stamp two sets of #'s on the frame?

Keith --- make sure you're looking in the proper location in the driver's-side wheelwell. Starting late(?) '65 model year, the plant stamped the 2nd VIN derivative further back, centered about 3" forward of the rearmost body mount, and (of course) on top and biased towards the outboard of the rail.

I say this because many people continue to look at the top of the frame kick-up, or around the upper shock mount bracket.

Thanks,Wayne I found the #'S, they where very lightly stamped.I was compareing it to my 64,looks like they stamped it with a 12 pounder. Keith
