    1963 seat belt restoration

My seat belts need to have new fabric installed to replace the original material. Who would you suggest for this work? My white patch has been rubbed so much that nothing can be read. The web material has reached the point of no return. The hardware is still good and does not require replating.

Snake-oil did a real nice job for my early midyears but they are salty( recall about 450 about 7 years ago for a set of 63 belts where i provided the buckles.

If the webbing is just stiff and dirty but not worn through you may be able to redo them yourself. I could not move the buckle on my 70 and I took them out and washed the fabric in dish soap several times while flexing the material and you cannot believe the dirt I got out. Rinse well and then let dry and put a little WD 40 on the buckle part to displace the water and move it on the belt several times. Mine look and act like new now.

Thanks for the suggestion. My belt is worn through. Does anyone sell the fabric? We could probably sew the material easier than ship to another person for restoration. Provided someone is in the business and looking for work.

Well the final word seems to be the exact original style belt material is not available. Time to put the old belts away and spend $49.00 on a "new" set.
