    C2 327/340 Valve Lash Adjustment

I had a 10 yr old 63 327/340 and before I learned how to read, I used a feeler gauge to adjust the valve lash while the engine was running. It was an easy process, and it seemed to work fine. Fast forward. I now have a 40 year old 63, 327/340 (different car) and will again be adjusting the valve lash(deja vu?). After checking out the archives etc, I discovered the method I used is not recommended. What is the downside of doing it the way I did it? Tnx Les

E-mail me and I will reply with an attachment that has the proper procedure for adjusting the vavles for ALL SB mechanical lifter cams along with the proper clearance, which is not quite what is originally specified.
