Cleaning Aluminum intake manifold

The judging guide says that an Aluminim intake should show no signs of glassbeading,wire brushing, or polishing. I would be interested in hearing what members of this knowlegeable group use to clean up their Aluminum manifolds. Thx Len#39247

i've used a mild ortho-phosphgoric acid(Dupont's Metal Prep) for years but it doesn't come out as nice as current methods such as John DeGregory's process. he advertises in the driveline(FI Rebuilder) if you're gonna have the car judged.mike

When I had mine off to do a valve job I cleaned it up with paint stripper and a nylon bristle parts cleaning brush.

Wayne: Thanks for the tip. I tried using the paint stripper and a good stiff brush and the manifold cleaned up like new. Thanks for your help. Len
