C2 1963 Fuelie voltage regulator

I could use a little help. Do you know where the voltage regulator mounts? From our books it appears to mount on the grill side of the radiator support. We think the hole in the support might be to cool the regulator. Your comments please. Another question, where should we direct the expansion tank over flow rubber hose. Our hose is long enough to go in many directions. One opinion is straight down. Another seems to want to go on the side of the radiator. I look forward to your information.

on vin 20301, it mounts on the pass side of the core support, facing the firewall. mike
