Were 67 Battery's Really Dated From The Factory?

Were the 1967 R59 battery's really dated from the factory? Hearing different opinions about that.

    Thanks,

    Jace----

This is an easy one. Batteries had to be dated for battery warranty purposes. Even in 1967, batteries came with warranties, both for new car and SERVICE batteries. If the battery were not dated and a replacement was required, how would Delco know when the warranty began or, more importantly, know just how old the battery was?
