Does this car require a special distributor cap to be considered correct?

C-2 fi dist caps have towers shorter than their Carb'd brothers as the carb dist cap on a fi dist will interfere with ing shield. i'm told 60 olds 394 ci dists used same cap as fi vets 63-65. mike

Yes, ALL 1959-63 Oldsmobiles as well as 1964 Oldsmobiles with 394 engine used the Delco D-310, GM #1943047 distributor cap, the same one used for 63-65 Corvettes with FI.

63-65 FI also use different wires. They have 90 degree connectors/boots on the distributor end. The short cap and 90 degree boots are necessary to get everyting to fit under the shielding.

Watch out that it is not a current production item, they don't judge well.

Thank you for your interest. Life is too short to have someone tell me what is incorrect with my beautiful car. Let me be the judge and I will never make an enemy. An example is a friend of mine judged the engine and chassis of a mid year car that had early parts and were told my the head judge to over look these minor items.

Do they still have the shorter caps and 90/0 boots if the car has no radio? or just cap, or just wires? please respond. David

Yes, same cap and wires for FI with/without radio.
