I see that there is a gas tank stencil for sale by a major retailer. Are these actually used on 67 tanks and where? If so, what do the NCRS judges think. My tank is an O.L. Anderson.

Re: 67 tank stencil
Keith - I bought a stencil from LI Corvette for my 67. The stencil goes on the passenger end of the tank as I recall (may tank is out of the car, stored at the moment). I believe in 67 the ink is white vs black, I bought it from Quanta, and it is different than paint. As I recall, the font and size of the characters were a match for my original, I was just applying again as the original dye was shot after all the years, but you could still make out the letters. Good luck!....Craig- Top

Re: 67 tank stencil
The gas tank stencil is located on the Driverside end of the tank, lower half, and is upside down with the tank installed in the car. The lettering is 3/4 inch DIAGRAPH Brady lettering. This is a fairly common size in the shipping industry. Check a local shipper for a possible stencil cutting......E-mail me for a before/after photo. sllavigne@charter.net- Top

Re: 67 tank stencil
Steve - it must vary, mine was on the passenger side on my 67, it was upside down...and the tank was original, tank sticker matching the car, and there was even some faint hue of the steel supplier with date of 2-67, Long Ternnes,...Craig- Top
