Re: flawed restoration, ADDENDUM....
Katherine...... Very sorry to hear of your difficulties but I still expect a Christmas card with a photo of an Inca Silver 59 on the front. Maybe you could post some of the " problems " you encountered with the Southwick, Ma restorer as an aid to other NCRS members. Good luck and keep pushing the
pushing the project forward.- Top

Sorry....
I'm not very good at puzzles...and what's puzzling me...why do you go o such great lengths to harbour this shop? If I'd been ripped off like that, you better believe that I'd make life miserable for that wretch....yep, I'd plaster his name on every Corvette Forum out on the net and let him take me to court, and then I'd file a counterclaim.
Don't be so passive, get off your duff and do something about it.
I wish you luck.

My 2 cents
I don't think that Katherine is protecting the shop, rather the opposite. She is protecting herself. In this litigous society, the shop could file a counter-suit alleging that she damaged their reputation and future income by advertising that the shop was not competent, violated the law, etc. BEFORE proof was established in either civil or criminal court.
The result could be that the shops loss of income is greater than Katherine's and she would end up owing them money. And since, from other posts, criminal charges are possible, depending upon the local government attorney, the stakes are much higher. Any release of information would be up to the prosecuting attorney and not Katherine.- Top

Re: My 2 cents
Boy I hear and read so many stories like this over the 30 years I'v been into Corvettes,I never go to a so called Corvette restoration Shop
1 the cost will be crazy because it's a Corvette
2 they knowing how rare parts are and the number game I worry about getting my original parts back.
3 Every Corvette shop knows every thing about every year which worries me.
So I do every thing I can do and what I can't I go to a local hot rod shop.
1 Have you seen the hot rods out there, these people know thier stuff.an engine is an engine, mechanics is mechanics and paint is paint.
2 original parts and numbers don't mean any thing to them Corvette wise, so you get your parts repaired and back.
3 paint jobs I never seen better.
and many parts I don't get from Corvette dealers but chevy clubs.
Just my 3 cents- Top

You make a.......
valid point, and very difficult to agrue. We don't know the whole story, behind the scenes activities, mainly because Kathrine may not be at liberty to divulge....but if that were the case, this thread should never have been posted, not until after all the smoke had cleared.- Top

Roy B.......
I'm with you, all the way...I learned loooooooong looooooooong time ago to turn my own wrench and squeeze the trigger on the spray gun, but, some people are not as mechanically inclined, and are left for the buzzards to pick over.
I suspect this guy looked at Katherine, and surmised, "What does she know, she won't know anything."- Top
